Who is the Interior Architect?
An interior architect is a person who creates solutions in order to offer the most functional design in living spaces to users in accordance with structural and aesthetic criteria.
What does the Interior Architect do?
First of all, it starts with providing the most accurate design advice in accordance with the comfort and function of those who will use the interior. It presents these designs from an aesthetic, safe and ergonomic perspective. It technically calculates every detail to create a better, safe and comfortable physical environment. It plans the design process down to the last detail by evaluating, examining and analyzing the volumes and surfaces of the spaces inside the building.
It creates the identity of the space by designing details such as furniture, accessories and lighting, including many technical issues such as physical environmental control, building and heating systems and electrical components. Draws sketches in line with the likes of the users and presents them in three dimensions. Performs price and quality research and implements the project in the most economical and functional way.
Why is Interior Architecture and Decoration Different?
Interior architecture is a professional discipline. It builds the most comfortable space suitable for the needs of the people who will live in an interior space, including psychology, sociology, architecture, engineering, economics and art branches such as painting and sculpture. Everything that makes up an interior; including texture, color, pattern and size, falls within the scope of the profession of interior architecture.
Decoration, on the other hand, is not concerned with buildings and their construction aspects, unlike interior architects, but with the organization of designed interior elements or the arrangement and organization of space.
